Funeral / Life celebration
You have lost a loved one—I am incredibly sorry.
What I can do to offer you, the relatives, and friends of the deceased a little comfort is to organize a dignified farewell ceremony, a final celebration for your loved one.
I try to find words where there are no words.
These words should reflect the person exactly as they were, with all their wonderful qualities, all their passions, their little quirks, their favorite sayings, and simply anecdotes from their life. The résumé is only a small part of my speech, because facts and figures alone can never describe what made a person who they were.
I am also aware that sometimes people leave us with whom we did not have a good relationship, and even in this case, I will do everything I can to make your farewell easier.
It is particularly important to me not to make the ceremony unnecessarily sad. With great sensitivity, I try to find appropriate words even for difficult circumstances. Especially when there are tense family relationships or tragic circumstances surrounding the death, saying goodbye can often be the beginning of a healing process.
Rituals are invaluable in this process. Rituals allow you to express your feelings once again and make the ceremony even more personal. Whether you want to light a candle you made yourself, place a letter in the grave, toast the deceased, or play their favorite song, the main thing is that it feels right.
I am happy to conduct the preparational talks and ceremony in English or bilingually (English/German).
My life celebrations are:
- no sadder than they need to be
- unique
- comforting
Recommendation
In Munich, the time in the funeral hall is unfortunately very short, at around 20 minutes.
If this time is not enough for you and the mourners to say a proper goodbye, I can offer you other options. It is possible for me to give part of the speech at the cemetery and then meet again at another location, such as a nearby café or restaurant, where I can give the second part of the speech, allow guests to speak, and perform another farewell ritual.
The second option is not to book me for the funeral itself, but to hold the farewell a little later as part of a small celebration, for example at your home or at a place that the deceased loved.
Together we will definitely find the best solution!
